About Diversified Insurance and the Diversified Blog

Diversified Insurance has clients with operations in all 50 states and a great many foreign countries. Our main offices are in Salt Lake City. We are a full service insurance broker but have a number of specialties. Our specialties include risk management for Technology & Emerging Growth Companies, Financial Institutions, and Professional Employment Organizations.

We are a member of TechAssure whose membership is by invitation only. TechAssure is an international association of privately held, entrepreneurial insurance and risk consultants specializing in mitigating the risks faced by emerging growth companies and the venture capital firms that back them. We are very involved with Venture Capital / Private Equity risks and offer special risk management programs through our affiliation with the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) to insure both the VC / PE firms as well as their portfolio companies.

We insure several publicly-held financial institutions and have a devoted following that rely on us as their sole provider of risk management services.

We are active members of NAPEO and have decades of experience dealing with the unique structures of PEOs and their client companies. We insure dozens of PEOs some of whose client companies number in the thousands. We represent every major carrier servicing the industry, including captive markets. We have also been instrumental in designing Employment Practices Liability Insurance policy forms for PEOs.

    About the Diversified Blog

Diversified has had a book blog for a number of years now but we recently felt that it needed more. To be useful to anyone, a blog needs to be current and have a particular voice – two items that have been lacking in the past.

I have taken on the task of being that voice and keeping the blog current. For now, don’t expect a post every day. A week should not go by without a posting but my goal is to have 1-2 posts per week. Some posts may be interesting (hopefully,) some may be merely informational in nature.

This blog fits into our firm’s goal – as Spence Hoole states it – to Educate, Evangelize and Entertain. We say this a bit tongue-in-cheek but secretly hope that we do accomplish all three things. We want to make sure our clients are well informed on macro-economic issues affecting risk management and insurance premiums. We want to make sure our clients know how to best lower their risk profile so that they have fewer losses and thus enjoy lower insurance premiums. We want to make sure our clients feel our concern for them and their business health. We hope that our method of delivering this information educates and sometimes even entertains our clients. Insurance policies can be painful to read and understand. We try to take the pain out of it by explaining concepts graphically and in plain english. It may be a stretch to say we are entertaining, but we hope that we are at least marginally interesting while being informative.

This blog is to give our clients and potential clients a “peak behind the curtain” into our world. “Our world” encompasses a number of perspectives. We are very keyed into the macro-economic issues that affect the business health of our clients. We also are very interested in how these macro-economic issues affect supply and demand in the insurance industry. These big issues often determine insurance premiums and the policy coverage enhancements available to our clients. We have access to most all insurance markets and assume (rightly so!) that we will always get the best risk management value for our clients. We offer great service and are lucky enough to have a bunch of great clients, many of whom we consider close friends. We are constantly seeking ways to educate our clients about reducing their losses before they happen.

We are active in the community and are sponsors and members of pretty much all of the local business networking groups. We freely donate time and money to Guadalupe Schools to help educate those less fortunate than we. We are also members and leaders in several international and national organizations. Many of the posts will relate to our involvement in these groups and associations.

For now – Welcome to our world!
