Diversified: COVID-19 Legislation Webinar – Part One: The FFCRA

Please join us on Tuesday, March 31, at 10:00 am MDT as Compliance Director, Stacy Barrow—Partner at Marathas Barrow Weatherhead Lent LLP—breaks down the recently passed COVID-19 Congressional Legislation.

Stacy will be covering the specifics from the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and how the bill will affect employees and businesses alike.

Passed on March 18, 2020, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) takes effect on April 2, 2020, and provides for two sources of paid leave for employees in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stacy will cover how the FFCRA could help employees and impact your business operations.

Why Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) is important to you:

  • It “requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.”[1]
  • Covered employers qualify for dollar-for-dollar reimbursement through tax credits for all qualifying wages paid under the FFCRA.
  • There will be penalties and enforcement for employers in violation of this Act.
  • The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) amends FFCRA and will be addressed in our Part 2 webinar.

As businesses everywhere try to plan around the dramatically shifting economy, this bill can help us weather the storm. Please join us in this opportunity to learn how to plan around this information.
