Diversified Insurance Joins IMA FAQ

Diversified Insurance officially joins IMA, Inc. as of August 1, 2021. IMA is a large independent broker based in Denver, Colorado. It’s an exciting time to be part of Diversified, and we want to answer some of the most common questions about the announcement.

How will the two companies be integrated? Will Diversified keep its name? 

H Squared, LLC, DBA Diversified Insurance Group, and Diversified Insurance Benefit Services, LLC will become Diversified Insurance, a division of IMA, Inc., with a brand name of Diversified Insurance, and will continue to operate as much as possible as it is today.

Who is IMA?

IMA is a large independent broker based in Denver, Colorado. They currently have other large offices in Dallas, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Mount Pleasant, MI, Wichita, KS, Springfield/Eugene, OR, and Pasadena, CA. They have 1,250+ associates. Like Diversified, IMA has been named one of the best places to work in insurance and is among the top independent insurance brokers in the U.S.

What are the benefits of the change for Diversified?

Our combined size and strength create more opportunities for broader training and development.  And, scale brings the opportunity for broader and more creative benefit offerings, more flexible time off and volunteer days, length of service sabbaticals, etc.

Is Diversified leadership changing?

Their roles will remain basically the same. Spence will be the President of Diversified and focus on leadership and growth. Everyone will remain focused on the “Diversified” team and identifying synergies with IMA.

Will the Diversified office location change?

No. We are extremely excited about our Salt Lake City office. With the focus on continued growth, we see the potential for more offices throughout the state and will always be looking to strategically place our offices central to our associates and clients.

What are IMA’s future plans?

The most important focus is on a continued client-first mentality with a strong associate experience and a cornerstone of associate ownership. With that said, growth is the key and a significant focus of the firm.

What is the IMA culture like?

IMA’s culture is remarkably similar to Diversified’s. They began as a family business and transitioned through associate ownership to a firm that believes deeply in high achievement. While never losing sight of being responsive to all associates and a strong corporate partner to the industry and community at large.

How will this affect our community involvement?

Diversified and IMA share an incredibly strong commitment to the communities where we live and work.  A large part of that commitment for IMA is accomplished through the IMA Foundation.

What will change for Diversified clients?

At IMA and Diversified, clients will continue to receive the same client service to which they are accustomed from both organizations. Diversified will continue to operate as it does today with the same leadership, and as and same roles. The combined organization means access to an impressive array of resources, products, markets, and specialty expertise. Clients will continue to work with the same producers, account executives, account managers, and teams they have been. The existing high level of professionalism and customer-first focus for both firms will only increase with this partnership.

Does Diversified have plans to continue to grow in Utah?

Yes. IMA’s complementary, not conflicting, geographic footprint provides Diversified with ample growth opportunities in Utah and the West Coast, all while being able to partner with IMA across the country.

Does this assist Diversified in writing different types of clients?
